Rocky, I will stick with my guns and say that the 8 to me is a lot more impressive than the 197 incher. Still awesome deer on both counts and a great trophy wall. I guess I need to look at hunting in KS sometime in the future. Any pointers?

I agree, I think as an 8 point, he's quite a bit more impressive.
I hunt on my own, on private land a friend farms, but the public land in KS is very good. Just get a tag and get up there.

Great bucks, Rocky. I remember your story from last year but is that a bullet hole in his left beam next to the G1? I'm not remembering that and it may be just the photo.

Anyway, purtier than a nine pound bass.

9 lb,? I'm looking at a 14.20, a 14.07, and a 13.56 on my fish wall, and that 8 point in my opinion is my best trophy.
There was some sort of tine coming off the brow that was broken, leaving a white area.

Pure luck. I bedded him down at 8:30 one morning, circle 7 miles around him, (by vehicle) then hiked in 1/2 mile to get downwind, set up by 10:30 and waited all day in a nice rain and 40 degrees.
At 3:20 he bumped from his bed by a spike chasing a doe, and ran under me. I stopped him at 5 yards and killed him. He went 25 yards.
