There is one pasture that has a bunch of momma cows with little ones and they tend to hang around my feeders at 2 of my tree stands, so I had an idea, I bought a cheap slingshot and some ball bearings from Academy and man it was a blast shooting those cows, of course the shots bounced off, but it was fun, it got to the point that I didn't even care if any deer showed or not, and seemed like good practice for bowhunting. :-)

How to get rid of cows

I had a place with cows on it once. The cows didn't really bother the deer too much. They just destroyed my feeders, (fence jumping cows at that!), and ate my feed. I got to where i brought a bale of alfalfa and honked the horn on the truck, and fed them by the gate. Wya away from where i was going to hunt. Cost me some money, but i didn't have to worry about cows at the most inopportune times.

I only have one place with cattle on it--and there are only 3 of them. Slingshot works fine but tomorrow I'll see if they have a good memory from last season. Also, go to Tractor Supply and buy a pound of 1/4" or 5/16" nuts out of their bulk hardware---way cheaper than the Academy slingshot ammo.

I did that once on Lake Whitney public land and as soon as I ran off the cattle a huge 10 pt came in pushing a doe (HARD)
He had acorn knots all over his rack. Beautiful!!!
All I could do is set there and watch cause I hadn't made it back to my blind yet. Neither of them ever noticed me.
10 yards from my blind and about 15 yards from me.
I was sick to my stomach!!!
150" easy! Never saw him again.
