Wild game battery pack for trail cams

Anybody ever use these? Happy with results or waste of money?

I have a moultrie game cam but they say it will work with any camera that has an external battery plug. It would be nice if it would work because in the past it would just take pics until the battery went dead and you would miss whatever happened after that.

I have 2 Wildgame Innovations cameras, but I made my own 6v battery packs. A buddy, here at work, helped me with it.

How long will the batteries last with the external battery that you made?

I use Wildgame cameras, I have 2 of the Ir5 models and they seem to do just fine on the 4 c cells. I have had them out for over a month with hundreds of pics. I'll check them again this weekend but last week they were still going strong.

you can make one a lot cheeper than buying this one. Just get a 5gal or 3 gal bucket and get the cable and battery and your set.

They work pretty good in my experience with them. I made my own with an old ammo box, wire, wire loom, cable clips, batteries, and a solar charger. Haven't had the power go down a bar yet. been out for 11 weeks

I have a 12 volt car battery in my blind for most of my stuff so far. (Lights and one camera.) Haven't figured out how to drop it to 6 volts for my other camera yet.

I have the IR8 with the 6v battery and it has been out for the last month and a half taking over 1000 pics with almost a full charge left. I have ordered another one, I like it some much.

The package says it will only work on Wild Game or Remington cameras but I can't imagine why it wouldn't work on any camera regardless of the manufacturer as long as it has the external battery port.......am i missing something or should it work on any camera?

For those that built it themselves, I guess all I would need is the batteries, the cord, the plug and some kind of water proof enclosures correct?
