    Lock-on stand question

I am looking to hang my gametamer on a tree away from my pen and wondered what is the smallest diameter tree you would use? I am confident this tree would hold but I also have another spot in my current tree that I would like to move my stand higher and they get smaller as you get higher. Thanks for the info

six inch diameter where I'm locking on

I would hang it as high as you are comfortable with then get in it and move around like normal to see how much shakin is going on. I hunted a tree recently that was the perfect vantage point but it was about 8" around. I couldn't shift my foot without the leaves moving.

I wouldn't go smaller than 6 or 8 inches. On a windy day you'll be swaying all over the place.

OK, the two spots I'm looking at are probably a minimum of 12 inches

That is a good sized tree for a lock on then. Did you make it to hunt yesterday?

X2. I have been in that tree a couple times. It stinks!

You should be good down to 2" or so I'd imagine.

No, got down there and pulled sd cards and filled feeders. After seeing so few deer on the cards we decided to just fill and come home.

How did the rest of your day go? Any luck?

Didnt see anything but I did find a great place for my pop up to take my son this weekend. Just in time too because it is supposed to rain some.

I hung a lock on a couple weeks ago. The area is about a 4 year old pine farm. The trees are about 20 foot tall. I bet my stand ended up at 16 foot before I found the height I was looking for. Trunk might be about 2" diameter. Got in it and it felt fine until the wind started blowing. Trying to find a place to set up a pop up blind in that area.

My GameTamer is 22 ft. up and the tree is about 14in. in diameter where its hung. The wind picked up Sat. afternnon and I started swaying way more than I was comfortable with.
