    road base ?

Im fixing to re work my drive way. What do y'all think will be the best material to use? I can get fly ash, limestone or reclaimed cement . I really aint had much luck with the limestone in the past , it seems to wash out after year or less. The road has a descent base just mainly want to repair a few big holes.

Road base is pretty expensive here in East Texas, about $600-$750 a load. Fly ash works in the right conditions/application. I have seen long drives, prepared properly, and covered in Ash that are fantastic and last for many, many years, as good as concrete but not as pretty, nor expensive.

Crushed concrete is the best IMO but you have to have the right base/place to put it, otherwise the ground you place it on just keeps eating it all up. There are a lot of grades as well, from experience, I would go finer rather than coarse. I have seen some serious ankle injuries on laydown yards and such where the coarser material was used.

I can get a 14 yard truck delivered less then 300 dollars for the crushed concrete. They said it is from recycled cinder blocks. Think that's the way im going to go. I have a drive way about 200 yards long but not all of need worked on.
