Can you get a lift kit for a 5th wheel?

Towed the 5th wheel to the lease this weekend. I have my hitch as low as I am comfortable, but the trailer rides low in the back.

This obviously put more weight on the rear axle. It became very obvious when in the last 23 miles of my journey I tore up a bearing.

Are there lift kits? I can probably go 1 or 2 sizes larger on the tires. Currently running 205x75x15

Does anyone know if you can do a spring over axle?

Will making any of these changes impact how it tows down the road? Of course I don't want it to become unstable....

we did a spring over on our 29ft 6 or so years ago. love it!! cant tell a difference in towing and it clears every little dip and rock on the way in to deer camp. we also use it for camping trips twice a year at different state parks. we did have to get some fold up step stools for the extra height getting in and out of the trailer. spent $50 on the spring perches and new U bolts.

If its springs then ^^^^^ If it torgson (sp) axels then do like a buddy of mine did. He went and got some 3 X 6 heavy wall tubeing and dropped the axels and welded the tubing to the frame then bolted the axels back under to the tubing. Worked great!!!

Is torgson the hinged together leaf springs?

If so, that is what it is.

Good idea to build onto the existing frame.

You can flip the axles no problem, theres a guy here in Tucson that makes a living doing nothin but that for people.

just drop it weld the tubing back on and might even add a couple bolts then bolt your axle back on

Thanks for the pic, I have "normal" axles.

Flip the axles from under the springs, to on top. The process will be removing the axles and welding new mounts. Fairly simple, and no effect on the ride.

I have seen several with SPOA lifts, should be no problem other than raising the steps further off the ground
