Without going into detail, I've been under the weather for the last 7 weeks, and after fishing or working in the shop, I've not had the energy nor the desire to shoot my personal bow.
Thursday was the turnaround day for me, and my new set of WC strings came in for my Athens Accomplice 32, so I installed and paper-tuned my bow, in preparation for a Sunday broadhead tuning and sight-in session.
Fished Friday and Saturday,(weather was wonderful), and so I got up early today so that my wife could hunt, and was ready to take care of a deer if she was fortunate enough to kill one. She wasn't, BUT, my son-in law called and said that he'd just shot a doe,(his first bowkill), sooo, off to help.
Deer was located quickly, and
since he didn't know what to do next, I showed him how to clean and quarter a deer.( It was slightly paunch shot, and he gagged),
but he toughed it out and he's the lead on the next one.
.
Well, now some ME time with my bow, so I start tuning at 40 yds, and quickly get BH and FP together and bow nutzed in at that distance.
Move into 20 and pin is on, move out to 30 and two inches low, so I bump pin down and nutz 30.
Arrows are absolute darts, so now my primary bow is on, and my back-up bow,( another Accomplice 32 in black), with a single pin 25 yd setting is ready to go also when we head for KS on the 30th of this month.
I don't hunt much in Texas until it gets considerably cooler, so I haven't missed much.
Like I said, I've had a pretty good day!
