    Weedeater abd chainsaw fuel?

My weedeater takes a 40:1 mixture 3.2 ounces to 1 gallon of gas. My chainsaw takes a 50:1 mixture or 2.5 ounces to a gallon of gas. Will it hurt to run the 40:1 mixture in the chainsaw?

I use the same for both of mine with no problem.

I do the same, weedeater is 40/1 chain saw is 50/1, I run 50/1 in both. The weedeater smokes a very little bit but it runs just fine.

I had to mixes also. it got old quick. weed eater smokes a tinny bit but i like to think of it as more lube for the motor..

It shouldn't hurt anything. If you're gonna rustle same fuel in both, I'd run 50:1 though. More lubrication than the 40:1.

Just to be correct, 40:1 is more oil than 50:1. What it means is that you have 40 or 50 partsof gas to 1 part of oil. Therefore, with a 40:1 mix you mix 3.5 ounces of oil to one gallon of gas, where with 50:1 you mix 2.5 ounces of oil to one gallon of gas. More oil in the 40:1. That said, I run 40:1 in everything and have not problems, but 50:1 in a 40:1 motor might be running a little light on oil and cause the motor to burn up sooner. If you run 40:1 in a 50:1 motor, you'll get a little more smoke and probably foul the plug sooner, but that's nothing a little sand paper can't fix.

Thanks. I thought it may foul the plug or be harder to start.
