How many deer do you think you will run through per year on average? And how many might you do at one time?

We seem to have good luck with the Cabelas brand. I want to say we have the 1 horse. After about 100 pounds of meat it needs a break but so do I, usually for a whiskey or beer!

I harvest our limit of deer every year (4) for the last three years. I bought the 3/4 horspower model at Gander Mountain a couple of years ago. I've saved a ton of money making my own hamburger and sausage. Well worth the money. I'm going to get a tenderizer next. Have one spotted at Academy. Happy Grinding ....

<High Five> there, brother .... my legs and back hurt when I cut up our deer and take off all the membrane and fat. Our meat is real clean but boy do I need some liquid strength ... lol Happy hunting.

If you are going to do as many as 5 deer at once, you need to buy something with some uumph to it. I use the 3/4 hp Northern tool grinder and like it alot...but not for 5 deer at a time.

I know there are folks on here with better suited grinder suggestions for your needs...

Many different brands out there that are all good. I would recommend at least a 1 hp grinder and one that has a reverse on it. The reverse is not a must but sure is handy/helpful.

I have the smaller Northern Tool grinder. Can't remember the horsepower. But it does fine. Not as fast as some of the more expensive models but I don't get in a hurry and usually only have one deer at a time to process.

I have ground a BUNCH of deer and hogs with the one from Northern Tool. I've had it for 4 or 5 years and its still doing a great job. It may not be as quick or fancy as some of them but it will get the job done plus some. I think they are still under $100 too! I also have one of the 5lb hand crank stuffers from them that works great as well!
