    Fallow and Judgeing them

I know this is a big fallow but how big? How do you judge them? Trying to figure out if he is of age for the hit list.

Thanks for any help sorry for the poor picture quality he moves out pretty fast.

I'd shoot him. I think the palmation plays the biggest part in judging them. I'm not sure how big is "Big" but he looks like a nice one.

Hard to tell from your photos, but I would say 210-220 SCI... Nice fallow, not World class.

Age wise he could be anywhere from 5 up! They typically don't have a real superb rack until 4...

This is a quick pic from cell phone, but this buck goes 225" SCI with 22 points.

The width is the only reason I have him close to the same score... Not even close on other measurements...

Not sure of SCI, but I would put him low gold or high silver in ROE. He has pretty decent palms and long beams. I can't really tell on the points as they are kind of blurry. I have one very similiar that squeeked in gold.

would be nice to see any points he may have but palming looks good width good , hight no to tall but nice

im not big on score , it would look good hanging on the wall or laying on a plate !

Are they any good to eat? I've heard mixed reviews.

would be a trophy in my books, and wouldn't mind tasting some of the meat.

He would likely go low gold on ROE. Hard to tell from the pics but I would put him on the list.

trophy is all in the eye of the beholder. but looks to me to be just below gold medal in ROE

He's a shooter to me especially since he's a chocolate fallow!

You want to look for typical things that you would in a whitetail. Long beams, mass, spread, and lastly good palmation any palms over 8" is good. You also want good deep points off of the palms as well.

I do not know if this helps you but in R.O.E the fallow is scored off the lenght of the antlers, the greatest inside beam spread, the least circum. of the main beam between points 1 and 2 and the greast width of the palm excluding the points. Fallows need a min. of 80 to score bronze, 87 to score silver and 94 to score Gold.
