Smoothing out the ride on a samurai?

I'm tired of it beating the crap out of me. Even at a crawl it is rough. Besides running the tires low, what can I do to make it ride smoother?

I am very interested as well. I know it's possible because Howard's is very smooth.

Cheapest route will maybe get some different tires....

You could go the suspension route, but it would cost you more than the sami is worth...

        maybe some air ride seats???

It is possible. Dennis' sami is smoother than mine. We have the same tires, so I have ruled that out.

                  Extend the body about 36".

That's funny. I'm not selling it. I don't even want to know how much a ranger costs. It's a 94 model that I bought for around $1,800 back in 2001. I like everything about it but the rough ride.

What would a suspension job cost?

Trade it for a Geo Tracker 4x4.
Less ground clearance but a smooth ride.

Samari and smooth do not go together.

I did notice that the leaf springs were completely flat. Should they be arched and would this cause the rough ride?

Put a air ride seat in it like the ones truck drivers use. Not sure what else you could do.
