ADT.... Just kidding. We use Texas Central Security. Their prices are about half of what ADT charged us. Very nice people as well.

Typically you pay up-front for equipment and to have it installed. Then you sign a contract for the company to monitor your system.

Be careful and read the fine print in any contract thrown at you. Many security companies are notorious for locking customers into multi-year monitoring contracts, with stiff cancelation penalties. Not to mention, many require 60 plus days advance notice prior to contract maturity to cancel the service.

I currently use Xfinity. They cut you a pretty good deal when bundled with cable and internet. My monthly monitoring fee is $30; prior contract with a smaller company was $60.

What system do you have? You must be happy with it if you're going to install another one ......

I have a complete wireless system from simplisafe. It’s worked great for the past 3 years. I’ll be installing their new system in my new house in September. Check them out.
