    Which would you choose

I have the opertunity to purchase either a Winchester .270 or a Remmy 30.06 which would you choose? I live and hunt in Florida mainly with trips to Tenn. Ill. and Ga. Haven't had the chance to hunt your big Tx deer yet, maybe someday. Let me know your opinion on choice, Thanks...

I perfer the .270 but their ain't nothing wrong with a 30.06 I believe the .270 is a flatter shooting rifle.

30.06. Best all around cartridge ever.

Winnie in 270. Not a big Remington or 30-06 fan. The 270 will take down just about anything you want it to, short of elk and moose.

For the area / game you are after, .270 without a doubt.

                    All the best,
                    Glenn

I am a 30.06 guy even though the .270 is a great round as well. Buy it for the looks. Which one is prettier?

Either one will do the trick. I was always able to find 30.06 ammo in small towns if I left mine at home. Not always true with the .270. I never missed or had one go more than 3feet straight down with the 30.06. Jack O'Connor killed every North American big game with the .270

I would go with the rifle I liked best. There is not a nickel's worth of difference in the two calibers.
