Do yourself a favor and start running now! You'll need to be able to do at least 5 dead hang pull-ups. The minimum is 3. Do 40 sit-ups in 2 minutes and run 3 miles less than 28 minutes. Your first test will be a 1 1/2 mile run. You'll need to do in in less that 14 minutes or they'll paint a red stripes on your shirt. about 1/4th of my platoon had them stripes...If you can run 3 miles in less than 28 minutes, do 10 or more dead hang pull ups and your goldedn...If not...Start working now. Its easier with out DI's screaming at you...Been there done that!
I saw a young Army solider at Joe Cotton's in Robstown last night. I guess he was on leave or something from Ft. Hood. I asked where he was stationed. I told him my brother and my friend were in Iraq now, although my friend was on home leave for 2 weeks. I thanked him for serving and mentioned that my friend was a helicopter pilot. He said he was a cook and I thanked him again, saying my brother wouldn't have anything to it if it weren't for him.
