The hogs tore up my food plot so I built a catch pen for them consisting of a two foot wide entrance guillatine style door and three of those three foot high hog panels with a "root" trigger. I've checked it almost every day for two weeks straight, except for the last three days with not so much as even a sign of them. Well, I get here today to check it and the door had been triggered, most of the corn as gone but no piggies. What gives? I designed it so that they can't get the door up and they didn't lift up the panels and go under. Did they climb out? Did someone come help themselves to my pigs, which I AM okay with because I don't want them. Any ideas guys? Especially you professional hog hunters.

Hogs can jump and or climb right over a 3 foot panel if they need to!!! I have had them climb over a 5 foot panel before.Comment

Well poo. Will chicken wire over the top keep them in? I've heard hogs can't jump but that they could climb when pressured.Comment

Yelp they can climb. Need to put hog or cattle panels on the top. Probably won't catch the same ones again. Them son of a guns are smart. LOLComment

you would be stunned if you ever saw how high a hog can jump.....we had a nasty barr hog bayed up pretty solid one night in a bottom ........he had backed hisself into a blowdown and was workin our dogs pretty hard.....well bein the genius that i am i climbed up on the blown over tree he was backed up against and stuck him in the middle of his back with my knife to get him to move enough so i could get ahold of him...well when he felt the knife he turned into michael jordan and in no time flat jumped over 4ft off the ground hit me and knocked me off the tree then came down on top of me and took off.......hahaha it happened so fast i didnt know what was goin on lol......anyways long story short fat pig can jump!Originally posted by TXBlkCld View PostComment
