    It happens to us all......

Satuarday morning found me and my ten year old Marshall (Warpig on TBH) 16' above the forest floor. The deal was that I get to shoot deer and he gets to shoot hogs. Due to the fact that he will be hunting the LSBA Youth hunt at Firstpoint he conceeded. Little did he know that I knew that deer were slipping ing before the hogs for a quick corn breakfast.

Fast forward to 7:30 and there she stood. Had me pegged but wanted some gold nuggets anyway. As she slipped to the south west I knew she was going to get our scent. So I stood drew and waited.........at 25 yards she stopped, perfect quartering away. I squatted about 4 inches.....steadied......and released. BANG! my bow nearly shot out of my hand.

You see it appears that dufus here was to focused on the deers posture and not enough on the position of his bow cam in relation to the stand he was hunting out of

While I thought it was a clean miss, I did fiind about 6 gray hairs on the broadhead. No blood and no deer.

Pulled tc pics this week and it appears i gave here a pretty close shave.....at least now I can make sure it is her when we see each other again

(the dark spot on top of her withers)

Yeah it happens Nice that it was a clean miss though in terms of not resulting in a wounded animal.

I had to reposition last year mid draw, was not the stand but my left knee..... I scared everything in the surrounding counties with the yell I let out... I had bruise for 3 weeks. I never found the arrow.

The lessons learned the hard way are the worst.

The scars from our last encounter made her an easy target.
