What is criteria and age limit on your buck deer that are taken on your lease and whats the penalty if broken, and does it take the fun out of the sport.

None that I know of. I haven't met most of the people on my lease.

We don't consider a deer mature until it is 5 1/2, and if a buck does not qualify as a cull or management deer, and is less than 5 1/2 years old, we have a graduated monitary penalty, pluss loss of trophy hunting priveleges for the rest of the year or longer depending on the specific circumstances...

We've been at it since 1985 and pretty much our group supports our program... In some cases the restrictions have enhansed the hunting experience. It has forced people to be management minded if they want to hunt with us, plus just about everyone now has video cameras, and we spend far more time sitting around the TV looking at each other's deer and their hunts than we do sitting around a camp fire... we do a lot of group judging from videos and everyone benefits from that, even the deer, but especially the newer, or younger hunters we have.

Sounds like you have a good thing going.

The biggest single thing you can do to have big bucks and big racks is to let them grow up. I agree with the 5 1/2 rule.

No rules on our family land. Shoot what ya like, you just have to eat it.

we have age rules, but some family members come out and shoot whatever they want...All they get is counseling on what we're trying to grow.

Just the 13" restrictions. I'm the only hunter on the place I hunt.
