I'll try and get some night shots later....if the skeeters will allow it!

Sweet. I remember when I used to have time to build my own. What do the components cost these days to put one together?

Very Nice. Makes me want to try it. I have an extra Sony camera just sitting around not being used "needs new battery". How hard was it and do you use the camera battery or a different one?

Did you hack the cam yourself I heard the 600 is tough to get the lens set right for a good focus.
          Really nice pics.
Nice clean job on the cam also.

No on the hack. This is the first build where I have not done the hack myself. I really didn't think I was up to doing the IR part on the s600.

It's really easy to build a nice clean unit if you have access to a drill press. Suppliers have some much cool stuff these days, it's become more assembly than anything else.

Mind if I ask who did the IR hack for you?
I have been wanting to do an ir cam myself. I have done a couple of p41's (great cam's) that are set up almost identical to your only difference is to c-cell batteries for extra power the sss is a great board. I have a friend that has a 600 that is hardly used but he won't give it up.
Hag's has some good people there.

I'd like the hack information myself. I've been saying I am going to build a cam for years and just have never gotten around to it.

Now seems like as good a time as any to try.

Rich Lasko did the hack. Easiest way to find him would be by looking up "rjlasko" over at the pix controller forum.

I would also recommend Daryl, "Whitetail_Supply" from the Real Deal Hunting Chat Forums. He runs the forum and also has http://www.whitetailsupply.com/

Daryl offers about as many cam building services & products as anyone I know. He is super helpful and very responsive.

Nice looking build. Hopefully the night shots will be in focus as well.

My concern as well...hopefully I will have chance to check it out tonight.

OK, got some night shots with it. Overall, pretty pleased. I played around with the ISO to get a balance between the flash distance and crispness on the photos.

                        15'

                        10'

Only thing about the cam that puzzles me is illustrated in this pic. About the right hand 20% of every picture is not in nearly as good a focus as the rest of the pic. You can see it in the grass in all the other pics as well...any ideas fellow homebrewers?
