I would keep them in a temperature controlled environment if possible. I had some tail feathers kept in my garage for just a few months and they started to curl. When it came time to do my fantail mount, they didn't look so good.
The turkey tails have been mounted for several years now. I have to move them to a storage unit (enviornment controlled) and I would like to box them. How can I box them so they won't shift around and so the box peanuts (or whatever) doesn't damage them?
cardboard box for picture frames. the wife got a nice large print from her brother years ago. the box was about 4" thick and there was plenty of room to put a turkey fan inside it. not sure where to get one though. most picture frames i see just has cardboard on the corners to protect them.

This would work. Even better if you could run a short screw from outside the box into the back side of the board/plaque that they're mounted on. This would keep it from moving around in the box.
A moth ball or other pest deterent wouldn't be a bad idea either.
