All Day Long

How many of you hunt all day in the stand and how often do you do it?

What do you see that is different than the typical morning and evening crowd, what's your success rate?

Depends on temperature if I hunt all day. I have hunted all day if it is not too hot. I have seen deer move at dawn, 10 am, 3 pm, and an hour before sunset in one day.

If it is too hot, I will hunt until 11 and go back out at 3 or 4.

I will hunt all day during the rut.. never no what you'll see... as for pre-rut, the deers around our farm are pretty predictable on direction, bedding and what feeder route they take

i hunt from 6-830 and 430-dark i cant talk myself into sitting all day

During the rut I sit from 6 till 10:30 and then 3 till dark..

All day. My rational is i've been at the office way too long looking at walls. Mine as well appreciate nature who will always give me something more entertaining to watch, take pictures, read, if anything just get fresh air!!!

I hunt from 1 hr before daylight to just after dark. On opener I had deer come in at 10:30 , 1:00 , 3:00 , and 5 . I generally hunt all day if I am out in stand. Personally I enjoy the quiet with no phones , email , etc...

Saturday I stayed in the blind for 13 1/2 hours. It was the first time I've spent the entire day, and will be my last until the rut. I saw the same number of deer during the middle of the day that I usually see while napping in the rv.

I will usually sit until 11 am during the rut and back out at 3pm unless I have a lot of action. If we have a full moon I like to go to my stand around 8:30 am and sit as long as I can stand it.

I don't stay all day until the rut... and even then I only stay all day during cold fronts.

I usually see deer througout the entire day when it's cold during the rut.

If I check the camera and deer are showing up in the middle of the day on it, I will. In the last 5 years I RARELY ever and a deer from 11:30-2. I do see deer till about 11 pretty regular.

I've done it a few times with the excetion of about 1 1/2 hrs at lunch. That must have been the time the deer move because I sure didn't see them outside the early and late times.
