    Choke for Buckshot

I need to clean house on a bunch of hogs that are coming to my feeder on regular basis and not letting my deer eat. I am thinking about hunting them at night as they are coming in at about 7-10pm evey night. I want to take the pug out of my shotgun and use buckshot. I have never used buckshot but what choke would you suggest on a Beretta 391 12ga. Also is this leagal during bow season or would I have to wait till rifle season? I dont want to do anything unethical or against the law.

Even though you tell the Game Warden that you were "Only hog hunting sir... Honestly!", I'm about 99.9% sure he would nab you. Using "BUCKshot" in a shotgun, over a deer feeder during archery season. Yeah, you would be in big trouble I'm almost completely sure.

I'd use them for target practice. Actually... I'd eat it if I killed it, but then again... I'm Cajun.

    All the best,
    Glenn

I'd be more than happy to come thin those hogs out for ya'! (big grin)

I'm in my ground blind right now at Camp Bullis and haven't seen or heard squat. Nice night though. Breeze right in my face, chillin' under a shady tree. Hoping hogs or deer show up tonight.

        All the best,
        Glenn

No closed season so you can hammer them now. You should use a full choke with buckshot.

I recommend calling your game warden and letting them know what you are doing. He may come by and check to make sure you are only killing pigs. By the logic of worrying about deer regs you would never be able to kill pigs that way, since it is always illegal to kill deer after dark. Just my $0.02 worth.

All guns and all sizes of buckshot shoot different. You need to try a mod, full and turkey. Try them with #1 and 00 both and see what works best in your gun. Does not matter time of year or day for shooting pigs.

Full choke and go get 'em! Might not ever see those deer during bow if ya don't.

I'm using a MAD dog pounder made by Indian Creek Shooting Systems.

If you don't call the GW like you should, just make sure you have the video rolling so he can give us a Continuing Education short course. This is not going to turn out to be an "it's better to beg forgiveness "situation.
I would pattern your shotgun as they all shoot different. Mine worked best with a skeet barrel actually I would just call in the Cajuns and give a Ragin Blaze sampler
