    Question about bowseason?

I have a friend who doesn't bow hunt, but wants to come shoot a hog this weekend. I was wondering if there was any laws against this, in regards to having a gun in the truck while I'm bow hunting. We won't be hunting together, but will be driving to the stands together. Does anyone know the specifics of what to do in this situation? Thanks guys.

As long as you're not in the same stand it shouldnt be a problem.

The rule says you cant have a gun in the stand while hunting with a broadhead hunting tip.

HE may have some explaining to do if approached by a GW. He will have to convince the GW that he is hog hunting and not deer hunting.

Hogs can be hunt year round. Withthat said your buddy and you can drive together to hunting site, but he has to go different direction to hunt. He must have hunter ornage on also, generally the warden may question him and ask to check truck/car to be sure deer not loaded. But for most part the warden would have to have "eyes on"-meaning he has to see a dead deer to have case for him deer hunting and not hog hunting hunting. He's okay to go with you

Doesnt need to go a different direction, the rules dont say anything about distance or direction. Just cant be in the same stand.

Dont need orange either, unless you are on public land (I dont hunt public land but I've heard they require it) or somewhere that requires it. If its your lease he can dress as he pleases.

          Here's your answer :
Parks & Wildlife Code Section 65.11(2)(D)

          (D) It is unlawful to hunt deer or turkey with a broadhead hunting point while in possession of a firearm during an archery-only season.

you could always call the GW in your area and either ask him or tell him the situation. you might get a visit from him, but he will be informed and you would have less explaining to do

Exactly. And it might be a little tough to explain if he's hog hunting during the middle of the day.
