As does everyone I'm sure....we have tons of hogs on our place. What are the laws about trapping , transporting and selling pigs. And does anyone know of a place to take them in the hubbard waco area. Not looking to get rich but I don't want to kill them all and let them go to waste

We trapped some to have a baying contest some years back and we had to have the stateman come pull blood to test them for something, but I don't remember what it was. But if you are taking them to sell alive I'm pretty sure you dont have to do all that. We were planning to keep them for a while.
I know that there are signs up over by my Mom's house in Centerville where they buy them live but I don't know the number or what they are paying. They used to buy them in Bay City and they paid pretty good but again that was years ago.

Here's some info from TPWD...Doesn't say anything about crossing county lines so to be clear I'd check with TPWD to be sure.
The Texas Animal Health Commission has enacted regulations
requiring all feral hogs in Texas to be tested and certified to be disease
free before being released into the wild for whatever purposes. They
may however, be legally transported to slaughter or livestock sale for
slaughter. If stocking is desired, only castrated males (barrows) should
be considered. Because they cannot reproduce, they will grow larger,
fatter and often produce larger tusks.
