    i get a picg to show a the county show next saturday. any tips on raising it?

        You havent got a pig yet? Usually they are bought during the later part of summer. There are lots of needs in raising a pig for showing. I would get with your ag teacher and tell him/her that you are going to need lots of help. Also get with other people that raise hogs and talk to them and their parents. It is fun but also takes lots of time and work.

                After all that, walk it again.

                Nothing is more noticeable in a show pen than someone that doesn't know how to move his/her pig.
                Clip their hair and spend plenty of time with some oil making them look good.



                What kind did you get? Duroc? Bluebutt? Yorkshire? Hampshire?

                      Durock's are the best, untill your dad bids at the county fair just to get the price up and ends up buying it for $700 and makes you eat it.

                          No not at all. Chesters and spotted poland chinas were always my least favorites. Spots are just completely ugly to me.
