I take mine off and hang it on the tree that I'm hunting.
1) It's extra weight that pulls to that side when your shooting.
2) It also is a wind sail when the wind is blowing pushing the bow one way and the other.
3) I always seem to catch the arrows on something when I have it mounted to the bow.
4) When I shoot with a quiver full of arrows there is extra noise. Especially if one of the arrows slides down from being seated inside the foam.
I take mine off on my compound - there's a little extra noise generated by the quiver at the shot. Trad bow I leave it on 1) because it doesn't detach and 2) because it adds a little weight and stability
Take it off. Quiver adds weight causing the bow to torque and also adds noise. Not to mention the fact of more stuff hanging out there to catch stuff and get in the way.
WOW I am surprised! I must be one of only a couple of folks on here who shoot with it on. In fact I've never shot my bow without the quiver on. Now I am curious and will have to try it....after season. I am dialed in with it on and ain't gonna change anything now.
I take mine off, because that is the way I practice. I like having less weight on the bow when I am sitting in an elevated stand. Balance is key for me.
