One weather record I wish we'd break this year
For the DFW area the record for the earliest freeze was October 22, 1898.
Since then there have only been 8 times the first freeze was in October. The reason for my whine? Mosquitos! I don't know if my neighbors have standing water or what but in the 9 years I've lived here they have never been worse. I'm tired of spraying down just to go in the yard to shoot arrows. I was out of repellent so I put on jeans to keep them off my legs and went out to fling a few. I shot about 50 arrows and am now scatching about 20 bites on my arms and neck. I hate them suckers - come on Winter!
