    Changes for this year...

I think the most signifigant change we have made for this year is we will have a trailer at our campsite....
what this means is.. we can sleep at the lease..and I won't have to drive in every morning..and then sit in the stand thinking about the 50 deer I saw on the way in grazing in the ditches on the side of the highway, and wonder ..why my blind isn't behind a speed limit sign...

Nothing better than being able to stay on property and not have to drive after every hunt. On old salt once said to me deer hunting without camping is like kissing your sister..

We also bought into and improved a cabin for our living quarters. We have a nice older house on the property but it lacked AC. We had a member leave and jumped in on the opportunity. No more lugging fans, heaters or bedding every weekend as being able well as several other items we can now leave up there. No more warm nights or hoping your space heater can keep up with the 18-19 degree temps...

We also added a cell phone booster so no more calls standing out in the rain and cold to check in on the wives.....add in running water, hot and cold, a brand new deer skinning rack and firepit and its gonna be a pretty comfortable place....

We've also since rewired the "makeshift" outdoor lighting system and added some new fixtures with bug bulbs and some floodlights to the side of the cabin for the skinning rack. Can't wait for this weekend...no work....just play...

      Very nice Smart!

We haven't made it that far yet on our place. We still dont' have running water, shelter and electricity....pretty much roughing it old school style with tents, lanterns and a few 5 gallon jugs of water. We did make one improvement this past Thursday. We cleared out our camp site real well. I wish I had a before picture because it is night and day. Here is a pic of what it looks like now. We can fish the pond right behind our camp site. Before it was nothing but a huge wall of brush and trees that you could not penetrate. We opened up the camp site real well! My uncle said he would give me his metal storage shed to put up there which is a plus. We won't have to bring everything back with us everytime.

I bought a 1977 24 ft travel trailer this year for $300, then spent all summer gutting it and fixing it up to pull to the lease. If all goes well I will be pulling it out and hooking it up on Wednesday.
