    Need Feeder help....

I got a new spot that I can hunt and got it set up last weekend. Went by yesterday to check everything and I didn't hear my feeder go off. So i go and investigate. battery good, timer is still working but not spinning corn. It is a walmart remington dial type of feeder. I have it set for 2 feedings. When I push test it spins no prob, when I move the dial by hand it goes off, so I went today and it didn't go off again!!! so I go and turn it by hand it works again.. like I said it's keeping time just fine. I don't have money to go and spend on a new feeder. any ideas what is happening? suggestions??? Please help I want to be done with everything tom. so by Sat. all my scent will be gone and I will be bringing in some good game. Thanks I am getting frustrated!!!

Is this the first time you have used this particular timer or is it an older one? maybe you are not setting the trip pin properly.

is there a run button on the timer? some dont have it but be sure it is set on run when you walk away. also i have returned perfectly good clocks that just dont spin the motor. replace it and it works great. in my experience for what it is worth, when you can test it and it spins, it should work. make sure it is on the run position when you leave it. good luck!

How do I set trip pin?
I used this feeder last year, and had no problems until Hogs rolled my feeder. I opted to replace it with a American Feeder, digital electronic type.

I had the same problem with a remington feeder I had. It would say Jam on the read out every other feed time. I just got a new motor set up. I only use 12V now. Good luck.

on some of the models that are not digital times are set by pins. based on you being able to spin
when I move the dial by hand it goes off
this suggests that your timer has pins that pull in and out. Just thinking the pin that sets your feed time isn't fully engaged.

Yes.. now I got you.. I pulled them out and put them back in(thought that might have been the problem also). but I figured since I can hand turn the dial and the feeder goes off when it comes around to the push pin they are set at the right depth???

When I was using the old OnTime feeders, I would have the same problem and I would have to bend the clips up a little bit so it would throw on its on. It would work if I manuely turned it but would not automaticly until I bent the clips. Maybe you could do the same with the pins.
