2 questions about elk hunting Colorado

I am going to do a DIY elk hunt with OTC tags next year. I want to know 2 things.
#1. what is the best resource for a detailed topo map of the GMU I plan to hunt {I am still evaluating a couple of areas}.

#2. Is there a website that shows the areas / roads that you can operate an ATV in. I saw a website while searching at work, but now i cant seem to find that website. I dont have a 4X4 and will need to use my ATV to reach my hunting area, so i need to know the areas where atv's are alloed.

1. Go to HuntData.com, you can get detailed topo maps for any unit(s)
2. You'll have to either go to the BLM website and/or look in the back of the regs to find out if ATVs are allowed. Most places are ATVs on trails only but you will get a BIG fine if you ride off trail.

What he said is about right. There are a number of map programs that will help you.

Monstermulies is a good website to spend time on.

Think about start collecting points in CO this coming year. You will be glad you did later in life.

Make sure you get a permit for your atv too. Up there i think they call them OHV (off highway vehicle)
