    Cooking: Crab Legs (need advice)

For a get together that will be happening shortly a lady called and asked me if she should buy some Snow Crab Legs (5.99/lb), and if I had a way to cook them.

The only way I know to do crabs justice is to steam them.

Amongst the vast knowledge here would anyone know if $5.99 is a good price?

What/how is the best way to cook them? (seasoning?)(how do we know when they are done?)

    Thanks in advance!

Do them on the grill....less than 5 min and they are done.

HEB had $6.99/lbs King Crab the other week. I am still bleeding budder.

We serve crab legs several times a year at the ranch but we buy king crab instead of snow crab. We get them at Costco for about $10 a pound but we have found that they are a value compared to snow crab legs because they are so much bigger...you buy a lot more meat per pound than with snow crab...some of the legs are 2' long and really thick...

The crab legs at Costco are already pre-cooked so you have a lot of options...grill, boil, or steam...but boiling with zatarans and lots of lemons is our favorite way...

We will take a pair of disposable surgical scissors (our dove shears of choice) and split the shells end to end before serving them...

            Thanks to each of ya!

When cooking on the grill, should you do it with indirect heat, or turning over the flame?

I throw them on the grill and shut the lid. 4-5 min later I open up and see what I have. Just be sure not to burn the shell. Other than that, you are good to go.

Boil them for about 3 minutes in any crawfish boil. Make a butter sauce out of butter, garlic and lime juice. Had some just the other day.. Dats sum guud eats
