...Use a razor sharp broadhead! Just a reminder guys. Here we are one week and a wake up away from opening day. Make sure your broadhead of choice is SCARY sharp, scalpel sharp, razor blade sharp. This will insure that a well placed shot will result in hemorrhagic shock, as well as a short and profuse blood trail. We want to be sure and slice those veins and arteries and not allow them to roll out of the way due to a dull blade. We want animals to fall in sight or leave blood trails that Stevie Wonder could follow. A razor sharp BH is essential to make it happen. Good luck and shoot straight!

What do you use to sharpen yours? I've seen the kits made for broadheads, but I just use the same stones I use to sharpen my knives. Was curious how well they worked.

I use the quartz tube from inside a 1000 watt high pressure sodium lamp.

I thought that I was the only one that knew that trick. Been using one for years. Works good on knives too.

You can also use the top part of your window on the truck in a pinch. Finished skinning a few animals that way.

Might I also add that as most of us will be pulling trailers this season...please remain conscious of your trailer hitches. They can cause hemorrhagic shock to your shin.
