    Frog catcher

I have a Wiemeraner that insists on catching frogs around the house and walking around with them in his mouth!!

What is the deal with that? Can anyone answer this question?

    Has anyone experienced this before?

My past experience with other dogs is they foam at the mouth and will not have anything to do with a frog.

The weim on the othe hand does not foam but will stuff the frog in his mouth and will completly hide it from you.. as he casually walks around.

He doesn't harm them just hold them in his mouth..

Im curious to read the comments..

Are these toads or frogs? My dog won't touch a toad, but she likes chewing on a box turtle.

Strange that he does not eat them. Our insane schnauzer/cocker mix eats as many frogs and toads as she can find. She foams at the mouth too. One time she came in with a huge bullfrog leg dangling out of her mouth and still twitching.
Waiting for her to find a moccasin

They are the small toads that come out at night time!

He came in the house last night, and was walking around with a little drool from his lips, thought he wanted a treat ; however upon inspecion he was carrying a frog around in his mouth. " all you could see when you lifted his lips was a tiny bit of a frog leg between his teeth.... lol .. he is too **** funny i tell ya.

beats anyhing I have ever experienced.

Our JRT does too. Abri will catch every freakin toad or frog around. Once she gets focused on one, just forget about anything else because she isn't coming to you until she is ready. She will be foaming at the mouth, but will go after another immediately.

Abri stays in the yard with box turtles and our African Spurred Tortoise with no problem, other than stealing their sweet potatoes from them.
