TPWD Draw Hunts ?

Do you have to apply for the same hunt each time to maintain your preference points? For instance, on the Archery Hunt, if I chose Chaparral last year, do I have to choose Chaparral again to keep my points? Or do your points stay with you for the whole category regardless of which hunt you pick?

Your points stay with you. You can apply for a different unit each year if you want to. The preference points are accumulated in the category ( such as archery deer or gun deer) not the hunt location.

Yep...as long as you apply to the same category (example: Archery Deer), it doesn't matter which unit you put in for. Just don't put in for two areas within the same category or you get disqualified.
