Why are hunting license so expensive?

My question really is who pays the tpwd biologist? Does the state pay for all these biologist that are in charge of MLD land. Yet the biologist does not require owner to do any management activities and still give out level 3 permits. When the rules say you have to several things. Owner hasnt done one thing for mgmt in years and still gets permits. Say they are going to do something but dont. That is a bunch of $#!+. These govt programs are all alike. I may have to start looking for another place that actual cares about mgmt or just go to shooting deer and forget about mgmt.

Price is cheap but I just want to see to money used for good things and not corrupt programs.

What does this have to do with the price of a license?

Fees go to the state that has to fund these programs.

I agree. This has nothing to do with the price it costs to have the right to hunt. And they are a lot more affordable than some other states for both resident and non resident. have you seen the cost of an elk tag in airzona?? If you beef is with your biologist, and land owner, then maybe that is where you should start looking. Everyone has a boss, including the biologist you speak of. And if you raise enough flack, you might just get to start looking for a new place!

Is a life time license hunt/fish really worth the $1,800? Are all stamps/endorsements included every year? Is it mailed to you? Any advice would be helpful, thanks in advance.

I personally buy the Super Combo and Duck Stamp every year. Just curious if Lifetime is really worth it.

Since when is $69 to kill 5 whitetails, 2 muledeer, 4 turkeys and all the fish and game birds you want EXPENSIVE? That sounds dirt cheap to me! Hell, they could charge me $300 and I'd still pay it!

Yes it is worth it, and all endorsements are included except the federal migratory bird stamp. All you do is go to a retailer with your ID and BAM prints right out. Simple as pie!

                        x2

There are a lot of places who choose not to use the state employed biologist for their area. They prefer to hire a private biologist to assist them in their management program.

It was definitely worth it when it was $1000 last year.

Is it worth it...do the math. 68$/year X number of years you hope you are able to hunt/fish. Or 1800/68=26.4 years to break even.
