We have always just built a shelf in the blind. We use sand bags or the soft Caldwell bags. Typically we use that blind for the kids.

Academy has one that hangs over the window opening. They work really well and I believe they are made by Caldwell.

Make sure you put a tall adjustable chair in the stand. The average deer stand windows are typically too high for a 14 year old girl.

I use an old camera tripod and put a sandbag on top. Fully adjustable. works great in a pop up.

we have used old blue jean pant legs cut them off and filled them with sand tied them on both ends with strings. You can also use a small rope with a loop. Adjust the loop from the top of the blind to give her something to use as a rest . You can attach it to the top of the blind just below the roof on the side wall with a long screw in hanger you can buy from Home depot. This also allows for some lateral movement. Pretty sturdy rest. Been in blinds where other people have had the rope just hanging. Good for a smaller person because the rope helps hold the weight of the rifle.

Everyone will probably make fun of this but it worked really good. I bought the 2slot rail Adjustable shelf brackets and screwed them to each side of the window. The bought the shelf brackets 14" long and mounted plywood to it then put carpet on top of it. This make the shelf adjustable for me, my son, my wife or anyone I take hunting. The whole stock of the gun rest on it. It works great! So good in fact I made one for the other window too. The only problem is you have to know who is the "shooter" beforehand to get the shelf adjusted. Good luck

2x4 on edge wrapped with padding and carpet. Easy fix!
