Have you seen the lady with one leg with the sign that says anything helps, I am on my last leg. I have to give her money cause she has teh biggest smile on her face and not trying to look all sappy.
When I was living up around Colorado, we saw some street performers in Boulder performing for most of the day. That evening, we were walking to our car and saw them getting in a brand new Mercedes that still had the paper plates on it. So I bet this guy makes more money in 1 day then most hardworking people do.
I moved here in 2005 and I have been seeing the same homeless people the whole time. I had one guy at Mopac and Steck he would be there when I came in at 6 am and still there at 5 pm . You would think a job would be better than standing in the sun all day. Unless you are working on your tan Where I work now at Mopac and WB Pkwy , there is a lot about 15 acres in size and they set up a little city in there. It was really thick and they had trails to each campsite. Even had a bathroom area (5 Gal Buckets) and a bathing area (Bucket in a tree). There were tents , sleeping bags , shopping carts, tarps and american flags hanging from the trees. They were being left alone for the most part until one guy shot another guy in a fight one night. Work had a bunch of volunteers come in after ASPD cleaned them out and we filled a 20 YD dumpster twice with the garbage that was in there.
Have you seen the guy at Parmer & Mopac with the long gray hair? He has about a dozen signs in his hand and he is constantly swapping them out . One says "Abducted by aliens and dropped here" . I have seen him around for 5 years in the same location.
My office used to be at MoPac and 2222. Every morning, two of the "bums" got dropped off in our parking lot, by their wives (or what ever), along with all of their props. And every evening they were picked up at the same location.
They always drove brand new cars and their significant others were well cared for. One of the significant others was a good looking professional woman whom I met as a bank teller in one of the branches across town.
