    Contact lenses?

Been struggling with glasses for several years and have never tried contacts. Got an eye appointment Thursday and thought I'd ask info from y'all that wear them. My problem is not being able to see up close, some midrange problems but good for distance.

What type lenses are most common these days? I've heard there's contacts you can wear for a week now.

Should I be able to shoot my bow with them in?

Anything else y'all want to throw out there will probably help. Thanks.

I've had mine for almost 15 years and they are pretty good. Unless you have awesome eyeballs, get you some of the dailys brand. You throw them away every night and put a new pair in every day. Best thing you can do for your eyes. I shoot just fine with 'em and my vision SUCKS without 'em. Good luck!

I personally have ghosting problems with my pins while wearing contacts and shooting my bow in low light. I'm not sure what causes it, maybe looking through the peep site. For that reason, I hunt with glasses.

I tried they for hunting last year and went back to glasses. Just to much of a pain to keep them clean with all the dust. Good luck.

Ricky I wore glasses for years, then wore disposable contacts for years, then had Lasik surgery. If you can go have lasik done. It was life changing for me.

Rick is this something that has to do with getting older, or have you always had to wear glasses? I am having to wear readers but my distance vision is still fine. When shooting my bow, I don't have any vision issues but in general my up close vision is getting pretty bad.

Been wearing contacts since I was 10 (40 now).

Once you get used to poking yourself in the eye, it's gravy!!!!

Going to look into Lasik real soon though.....

I've worn contacts for over 20 years. Some of the newer ones are absolutely incredible in comparison to the old stuff. About two years ago I switched to the Accuvue Advanced. Best contacts I've ever worn. I can even go bay fishing in the wind and spray without any problems.

The biggest issue is getting used to putting something in your eye, which just isn't natural. Give it a month, though, and you'll get used to it. After twenty years, I could probably stick a lighted match in my eye and not blink.

Started with readers when I was 40. Went to full time glasses two years ago.

Peripheral vision is worthless with glasses. Hope contacts fill a niche.

If you are a candidate for Lasik get it done. I held out for several years and then finally gave in 2.5 years ago. Easily the best money I have spent on anything........ever.

I do not shoot a bow but I have wore contacts for about 30 something years until I got Lasik and I wish I would of done it sooner! Best thing I have ever done for myself.
