    perfectly legal

    1) be sure to notify a game warden in advance
    2) be sure of your target and do not make the mistake of taking the wrong quarry
    3) be smart

You can...They aren't regulated. Just need a hunting license.

I was told that hunting any exotic animal or piggy/furberer at night was perfectly legal and you don't technically have to tell and Game Warden in advance as that is just a courtesy call. That's straight from the Warden office in Austin

You don't HAVE to call the warden. There is absolutely nothing to be lost by notifying them.

Yep you can, but I'd call the game warden so he doesn't show up and think you are poaching whitetail at night.

Well, if you call them, then the chances they come out to check you after you've shot a big WT Buck increase

We did that trying to get all the exotics off a 600acre section on my buddy's ranch back in college. Never called game wardens and never had any issues. We didn't do it when whitetails were in hard horn though.... We did it probably 5-6
Nights and averaged about 10 animals a night (blackbuck, fallow, and axis.....)

yeah call them, doesn't take but a min and sure don't want to deal with him late at night when you aren't doing anything wrong.

This was discussed here a while back if I remember correct. Perfectly legal, and is bound to be a good way to get on some nice bucks when it aint 110 degrees during the day. I figure its like elk hunting when its too hot...they do it "all night long"

Very much legal, you still must have hunting licence, and always a good idea to notify the game warden any time you are out at night spotlighting-even if it is for coons, pigs or whatever.

Also have to have permission from landowner or it can be charged as theft of livestock, a felony in Texas.
