I was told that hunting any exotic animal or piggy/furberer at night was perfectly legal and you don't technically have to tell and Game Warden in advance as that is just a courtesy call. That's straight from the Warden office in Austin

You don't HAVE to call the warden. There is absolutely nothing to be lost by notifying them.
We did that trying to get all the exotics off a 600acre section on my buddy's ranch back in college. Never called game wardens and never had any issues. We didn't do it when whitetails were in hard horn though.... We did it probably 5-6
Nights and averaged about 10 animals a night (blackbuck, fallow, and axis.....)

This was discussed here a while back if I remember correct. Perfectly legal, and is bound to be a good way to get on some nice bucks when it aint 110 degrees during the day. I figure its like elk hunting when its too hot...they do it "all night long"
Very much legal, you still must have hunting licence, and always a good idea to notify the game warden any time you are out at night spotlighting-even if it is for coons, pigs or whatever.
