    Best smartphone for ATT?

So, with the new offerings, is the I-phone still the best or is there something else I should consider? My contract is up and I may go ahead and join the 21st century...

Any continued issues with the dropped reception?

          Todd-
Given the fact that you're traveling around ETX all the time, I think you should consider changing providers. The coverage issues ATT has had motivated me to go to Verizon 7 years ago, and I've never looked back.

If you consider it, go demo a Droid at the Verizon store on the south Loop in Tyler (old Alltel store).

Ouch, I'll think about that. I have used ATT for a few years now and really haven't had an issue though. I get good reception at home and at the lease which is a good thing.

ATT and I phone. Yes, a few dropped calls but the benefits outweigh that a hundred fold.

After having my iPhone for a few months I can't imagine not having it.

Verizon will have the iPhone starting in January! I have the Droid X and it is great so far and Verizon's coverage can't be beat.

I-Phone and ATT - lots of dropped calls - everyday. If you are buying a phone for business, I personally, would NOT consider an I-Phone and would consider another carrier or a different phone.

If you are buying a phone for personal use and need service out at the deer lease, then ATT may be the way to go. Just my opinion given my experience with a couple of different carriers.

Have you been to the AT&T store and made them give you a new sim card? Most dropped call issues have shown to be sim problems. If you have what about going to an apple store and getting them to replace the phone?

I've had AT&T, Alltel (Verizon), T-Mobil and Cellular One. AT&T wins my vote hands down. Our Tyler office uses Verizon. When they come to my area to work, might as well send smoke signals, you CAN NOT reach them on their phone!

Verizon = American Indian translation of "housewife phone".

Can't beat the iPhone IMO. I've had the 3G, the 3GS, and now the 4. Have had ONE dropped call and that was due to the fact when I got my iPhone 4, I didn't have the bumper yet. Everyone gripes about the battery life... Yeah, it'll drain it if you're playing on the phone all day!

Mike - unfortunately, I am on my third I-Phone.

When you complain about dropped calls, their solution is to give you a new phone - same old problems. So the answer is yes to all of your questions - wish it wasnt so. But I also wish that I had never switched to ATT as they make it impossible to conduct a business call on an I-Phone. I am sure it has something to do with being in the DFW metromess and areas outside of DFW may be better.
