    what kind of broadhead

what kind would be best for a dimond razor edge set at 40lbs?

I asked the same question the other day for my son's Razors Edge and was told the Magnus Buzzcut. I don't have any experience with them but will see what kind of response you get as I still have not purchased any for him.

You'll get a lot of opinions on this one!

My opinion is a 2 or 3 blade cut on contact head. Something like a Magnus or Montec would be great. The 2 blade + 2 bleeder Magnus Stingers would also be good.

My daughter shoots an ignition at 39 pounds, she got 13 inches of penetration on a 154lb boar, thru the plate with a Nap Hellrazor. It flies great and is super easy to sharpen. I'm thinking of using them myself! I did have to finish the bad boy off with a .22 to the ear but he wouldn't have lasted much longer. She hit it a tad forward and I have no doubt it would have died quickly with a little better shot placement.

Magnus Stinger would be a great choice.

Any cut on contact fixed blade head that you can afford. Definitely stay away from any expandable.

I used Thunderheads with my compound from 40# to 55#s. Never had a problem with them. I used TH XPs when I went to South Africa. They have a cut-on-contact razor tip.

Currently, I am shooting the Magnus Stingers and have tried the Buzzcuts with my long bow and recurve. I prefer their razor edge over the serrated.

Love the magnus. Used to shoot the montecs. They fly wonderful but they were not very sharp. I like a razor sharp head and they were not that sharp. I have not tried the montec CS heads. They will probably be easier to sharpen. For now I will shoot the magnus stinger and be very happy. Bout $10 less per pack too
