    Ever hit knuckle before?

I am thinking more and more like I did on my deer. Just wanted to know how many others out there have "hit knuckle" and what has your experience been like?

I hit a very nice axis in the knuckle. Very little blood and no deer. One of my best and worst days as a bowhunter.

I did once, and boy howdy she got mad!!!

I still think you hit much further back and higher than that based on the description of the blood found. But who knows, I could be way wrong!!

I have 4months to prove that theory, and I plan on getting closure to it.

Casey should be able to provide you with Video Evidence of a knuckle hit.

              Hijack in progress:

I have heard two different theories on this. Has anybody else?

I have heard that there is "that spot", and although unlikely, it is possible.

I have also heard that it is not possible because of the trauma of a broadhead. Just like a human- an arrow could go through you and not hit serious vitals, but the broadhead would do so much damage that you would not survive?

Anyway, I don't know one way or the other, just that I've heard two different theories. Is the general consensus that there IS "that spot"?

              ^Hijack over.

Mud- did you have another thread about this or something? I would like to know more about it. Thanks!

I was pulling the bases up into the legs on a gooseneck trailer and hit my knuckles once. Then, stupidly pulled the other side up and hit the other knuckles.

                Sorry, couldn't resist.

Never had a knuckle shot on a deer!

I made that same hit 3 years ago, no deer and very little blood. 2 months later during rifle season another member of our lease killed the buck 300 yds from where I shot at him. His leg was all swollen but he was still moving around halfway decent when he was finally taken.

Had a nice 9-pt at sixteen yards, thought to myself "aim small-miss small", took the shot aiming right at the knuckle thinking there was no way i would hit it. Wrong!! Magnus 2-blade smacked him and sounded like i hit him with a 2x4. After he regained his footing and made a mad 200 yd. Dash he stood shaking his left leg. (broadhead buiried up in his leg, broke of at the adapter) final outcome=1 pizzed off and sore buck, 1 bloodless arrow shaft, no bloodtrail and empty freezer!

Jokes aside - when y'all are referring to 'knuckle' are you talking about the front joint of the shoulder, or the elbow?

I did on a buck 3 years ago, no blood, no deer. Caught him again on trail cam about 3 weeks later and he seemed to be okay. I hit him with a Magnus Stinger, and like someone else said, it sounded like you whacked him with a 2x4.
