    Best deer attractant??

I don't run feeders because I hunt the hardwood bottoms and it's hard to compete with a good acorn crop and also it has just seemed to be a waste of money. But now this being my first season bowhunting (and hunting before the acorns drop) I want to use something to get deer to hold up where I want em to (my shooting lanes and in front of my game cams).

What is the best manufactured attractant for my situation?? I'm wanting something that the hogs won't devour

I don't really know of anything that the hogs won't eat, but we always use a little horse & mule mixed with corn for our ground feed. The deer love this "sweet feed."

You might want to try Acorn Rage too. I used it last year and the deer seemed to like it.

Salt licks would work well for spring/summer and maybe very early season, but there isn't much that will attract deer but not hogs.

A few piles of well placed corn at known yardage works good for me.

Hand tossed corn is what you are looking for.

A little Shake and Take will work well.

I had some really good luck with C'mere Deer 3-day harvest last year.

Day two was quite the show.

hand thrown corn and poured lines of rice bran. Could see if they would touch alfalfa, but I've had better luck with it in pine plantations vs hardwood bottoms.

AlfAlfa would be good. The hogs will not mess with it.

Big pile of rice bran works best here in Central Louisiana. No need to add any special scents or attractants to it. Pour it in one big pile and they demolish it.
