Could someone please explain what the Infrared aiming is on my trail cam? I have a Moultrie 200. What is the infrared aiming for? Do I want it on or off?
What does it do? Thanks for the info!
I had a camera with infered aiming and a laser. Infered aiming sent out an invisable signal and when I crossed it, a light came on letting me know where the field of view for the motion detector is. When I set the camera to auto for use, the infered turned off.
the infrared senses a change in heat and sets the camera off. the laser will help you to aim the camera but the camera trigger distance is only as good as the infrared is capable of sensing. ie. you could aim the laser at a target 75 feet away but the infrared isn't capable of sensing to that distance. using the infrared to aim to the camera gives you a true indication of how far away something can pass in front of the camera and still trigger it
