    Tickets in the HEB area?

I haven't had a ticket in 6 years until I started working in Bedford in May. Since then I have received 4 (3 speeding and 1 no seat belt). In my opinion all 3 were a speed trap on 121 and the no seat belt was today and the only cause for the pull over. All speeding where less than 10 over!

In addition my job site is on the service road and cops pull at least 10 cars a week into our parking lot to issue citations. I honestly believe its all about revenue and not public safety at this point. I respect the law and what it stands for so I will pay the fines and move on, but I am losing respect for the public authority at this point. We Americans are just as financially strapped as the city, but they will seem to be abusing there powers to meet their budget and it sickens me.

Have any of you had tickets in the HEB area lately?

Isn't that 5 tickets? It's click it or ticket these days. I have been pulled over more for seatbelts in the last 5 years than anything else. The only time I am in HEB area the traffic is so bad I can't speed.

Simple solution. Drive the speed limit and wear your seat belt.

Seriously though, traffic cops are hired to enforce traffic violations. They're just doing their job.

I have the same driving technique in all cities and I drive 80K a year so why so many in this area?

I live in Bedford and drive 183 and 121 constantly. I'm usually in the 65-70 mph range and have never received a ticket. If there aren't other cars in sight doing about the same speed for safety in numbers I will be more careful about my speed.

Well I would suspect your not "TOLD", but when the city budget meetings come around you here there is a short fall of funds.....and officers may be released? Have you ever heard that?

Please understand I respect all law enforcement, in fact I have close friends that work in it and I agree its their job, but if there was a way to compare the amount of citations in this area compared to others when population is factored the HEB area will be much higher in citations given.

exactly you break the law you should expect to be held to the consequence.

Spearchunker I understand what your saying and I am far from an Angel behind the wheel, BUT when I am breaking the law and get pulled over, it is no one else's fault ... I was breaking the law. All of the other side notes are just that, you broke the law and got a ticket

I would bet if you stop speeding and wear your seat belt the tickets would stop I drive an hour west of Weatherford everyday to my project and lock the cruise at 72 in a 65, so like I said, I'm no Angel myself, but when in HEB I know better.

I understand the frustration, but as said similarly above, don't speed and you don't get tickets. Its really that simple, rationalizing that breaking the rules elsewhere results in you not getting caught doesn't rationalize away you were still breaking the rules. For the record I often drive too fast, and when I have gotten tickets I always know the blame is on me, no one else.
