If the rain slacks off some, I'll be out on the back 40. I've seen lots of whitewings this year, but not as many mourning doves.
I didn't hear too much shooting this morning.
My wife said that there was alot of hunters out on the public fields on 281 and 735.

chased us inside the vehicle more than once but was able to squeeze out another limit on the cameron / hidalgo border.

Hunted around Alice this morning...... we had birds every where. I did alot of driving around looking at the hunters and I'd occasionally stop when I'd see big swarms of birds. I stopped at one field and just sat there for a good 20 minutes watching flock after flock coming into the sunflowers. seems to be an awesome season if we dont get much more rain...

We hunted in the morning, then around lunch it started to rain. We got 2 1/2" this evening, I hope it does not rain anymore. I'm so tired of this every single year....

Had a break for the last hour where it changed from **** floater to drizzle... Our birds were still here unbelievably and my brother and I shot a limit in that final hour today. Finally some good bird action .... Had a great wet muddy shoot and the dogs are worn smooth out. Total birds for group was 59... Mix of mourning, whitewing and 1 collared.
