    OT: Trigonometry Help

    I'm frustrated because I can't figure this out and I know it's simple, but please help! Haha!

    In finding the Cosecant and Cotangent of an angle, this is what I have:

    Csc= 17
    ____
    2 sq root 30

    Cot= 13
    ____
    2 sq root 30

    I know that they cant be left that way, but do I multiply both the top and the bottom by 2 sq root 30 or just sq root 30? Any help from a math guru? Some of my trig class is easy and some hard. Would help to have a professor that wanted to make sure we understand. He just goes too fast. Thanks and no laughing!!!

    BTW....Hyp= 17, Adj= 13 and Opp = 2 sq root 30

    On a 30 degree angle, the side opposite is 1/2 of the hypotinuse if that helps. I just use my calculator.

      You can multiply top and bottom by sq root of 30.

      csc = (17 * sq root 30)/(2 * 30) = (17 sq root 30)/60 = 1.55

      cot = (13 * sq root 30)/(2 * 30) = (13 sq root 30)/60 = 1.19

      Your angle is just over 40°

                  There are only two possible answers, and they are both correct.

                  It's either C
                  or
                  George Washington
