Why won't my SLR read SD cards from a trailcam?

many of the dell laptops of the last couple of years have sd card slots in them and the mini 10's have them to...if you can find of of those cheap, that would make a very nifty trail cam pic storage/viewer...

or find you an old palm treo 650 phone....nothing wrong with them except the screen is a little small...but it works....

My Canon XSI won't read any of my cameras (SG550, Moultrie, Wildview).... I always assumed it was different format!

My Moultrie cams could always read on my Nikon but never my Cudde's...and now I just received a new issue.

I bought 4 brand new SD cards and took out to put in my cameras. 3 out of the 4 showed no pictures...what the heck? They had pictures before with different cards in them?

I have a Nikon D40 and a Stealthcam trail camera. your'e right the Nikon won't read the pictures that have been taken with the trail camera. but when I download from either to my home computer, i then go to my computer and format the sd card and it will work in either the Nikon slr or in the trailcamera.

are the cameras the same make/model?

some of the older cameras would only take 1gb cards, some say they will only take 1gb cards but would work with 2gb....some would only work with 2gb or lower and nowadays...it doesn't really matter...then there are some of the older ones of the last couple or so years that did not like SDHC cards but would work with regular SD of the same capacity...

best to read the owners manual and go with what they say....
