    Cuddeback Expert bit the dust

This was the best camera I have ever owned. It lasted 2-3 solid years with no problems. The pictures were real wavy and you couldnt hardly see anything. I stuck it out there again with new batteries hoping it was a glitch but I dont think it was. Sucks bc they stopped making this older model camera. It was the best thing I ever came across. Not worth $150-$200 repair cost though, especially since they will prolly ship me a new cuddeback capture(which I have returned 3 so far and wont ever buy again)

The older model cuddebacks were the best cameras ever made.

My 06 Excite just bit the dust too..Stayed in the woods nonstop for 3 1/2 years just started getting real slow. It will still take a picture but takes forever to save and misses the 1 min lapse by about 20min.

I agree. My cuddeback has given my 5 years of service and is still great. I would suggest going on eBay and getting a no flash. I got one of those too and it has worked flawlessly. They are still fairly easy to come by.

I have my noflash but it isnt worth the 400 or so I paid for it. It still works awesome no problems tho. I will sell it to anyone tho. I just like flash cameras more

I've got both the Excite and the Expert. Brought my Excite home this weekend to send it back to Cuddeback. Found a trouble shooting and Q & A link on their website and tried a few things they suggested. It would take pics up real close in the house when testing it, but not over about 5-6 feet. Went through the sensativity settings again and reformatted the disk IN the camera using the utility program. It appears to be working now as it was taking pics at the office about 20' out. Hope it works in the field. Have you reformatted the disk?

i got ahold of cuddeback everytime I have called but they want 150 to fix it or send me a new capture. I can get a new camera for under 180 that is good quality. The captures suck

So far, I have had great luck with all 3 of my captures. I have a no flash and one excite, that work great too. Maybe I just got lucky with the Captures, but I love them.

From looking at all of the posts about TCs (all brands), it doesnt appear that anyone is making a reliable and affordable TC these days. Not interested in dealing with an internet only broker/salesman so left with little, if any choice. Just got to pick a company with good CS that will send me a new one or exchange their defective junk without a whole lot of hassle or extra cash out of my pocket.

                          got a reciept for it
Now I just have to get through on the phone to CS instead of being on hold for 20 mins.

I was afraid this might happen...My Cuddeback Capture IR has quit taking pics out past 2-3 feet. Anyone know how to fix this or is it time to contact Cuddeback?
