Logo Software Question

I need to create a logo for the new ATV bow holder we are very close to starting field testing.

Can anyone recommend a logo creating software that does not cost an arm and leg?

why not get Loneaggie or Cameron, or even mod Larry to make you one.... probably
cheaper than the software and the time you'll spend trying to figure it out, and

gimp was written for linux. I use photoshop elements in my digital graphics/animation class and gimp still confuses the crap outta me. I haven't spent a lot of time with it either though.
