    Leveling Kit $?

Need some info. About how much would a leveling kit cost me on a 2005 GMC Z71, parts and labor. I would like to bring up the front end, it sits a little low for me. Thanks for the help in advance

Did it make a noticable difference in your front end clearance/overall looks of the truck.

you can crank the stock keys yourself about 1.5" on that truck and see what you think before you spend any money. Just remember whichever way you go the truck will need to get an alignment afterwards... i have 05 silverado (same suspension as yours) with aftermarket keys with the front end raised a good 2.5" and it fits 305 70 17 tires but she rides rough.... the aftermarket keys cost about 40-50 dollars and i installed them myself

I heard that even after an alignment, you will still wear the edge of tires. Is that true? Plus, after spending the money market keys plus an alignment wouldn't it be worth doing it right for a little more $?

It did what I wanted it to. Brought up to just about level. I went with 285's.

The stock tire is a 265 right?

leveling kit for my 2008 Z71 cost about $80

I installed it myself (really easy if you have a shop and tools)

                    fits 285's

ride and drive did not change

                      Yes, stock tire is 265

You will have to get an alignment done after you install, but it is not true that you will wear the edges of your tires. At least not on mine.

If you have never removed the torsion bars and/or do not how it is money well spent to have a shop do it.

If I remember right, its different in the 07's on. You added spacers to the coil/struts.

I think there is a special tool you "need" to get the keys out.
